I created the song, then MOVAX ran it through his processing application that generates particles and abstract 3d geometry to the audio. He recorded several different takes of the processing app, sent them to me, and I took them into after effects and did composting, color correction, effects, and added a particle stream. I used expressions to have various parts of the effects and particles triggered by the kicks.

This is my first night of programming my installation for MOCA's Art and Abstraction in the 20th Century. The show is about the progression of abstract art through advances in technology.

The final piece will be 2 controllers allowing 2 participants to jam together to create audio/visual. One will be rhythm and one will be for melody. Everything will be tempo and key quantized so that everything stays on beat and in key.

It will look and sound much different from this, but this was an interesting initial test, so I thought I would post it.

Im writing music for 3 sesame street shorts, the intermittent animations between muppet action that teach kids something. The first one thats shipping is a re-done classic from the 70s called remembering, where a girl is asked by her mother to go buy bread milk and butter, "if you cant remember Ill write it down for you" but she hops all the way to the store chanting "a loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter" and when she gets there she doesn't remember, so she calls upon the forces of cthulu and summons her mothers spirit animal, who tells her to go into the forest and... wait her mom just appears over her head and tells her "butter, dumbass"

triumphant she returns home with her newly begotten treasure, and they have a triumphant kiss on the cheek, its all very wholesome. Ill post it up if they let me, but I dont think Im allowed to as of yet.

Im getting very close to finishing the wave-weaver. Its now got a much more diverse sound palette including deep gritty industrial bases, squirpy sync-saw waves, underwater spectral smoothing, and digital harmonizer. The final things to do are finish the graphics and add a bit more capability for stereo panning, and it will be up for sale, thanks all for the patient wait!

The brain child of Steve Kemsley, Omar Jon Ajluni and I is now reaching completion, I will be sending out demos very soon. This is one of my most exciting musical endevors, and by far the most promising and eclectic. Its got elements of Classical, Jazz, Progressive Rock, Indy Rock, and Futuristic Experimental Electronic (which is what Im responsible for). Omar comes from a classically trained background, and hes responsible for many of the melodic themes and keyboard leads. Steve has a humanistic easier to relate to nature, and is responsible for the indy rockesque qualities, and the person who keeps it from being too challenging. I am responsible for the sound design, futuristic elements, and breakbeats. Together I think we have something truely special, in a very unique blend of influences.

Alexander has a great victory over the Persians in the Battle of the Issus River in Cilicia, but the Persian Emperor Darius III escapes. Ive decided to start using blogger for a news page on my site, so that I can make more frequent updates, the main page of my site is about to get a huge overhaul using flash based video player and buttons. The softwares have been on hold for a bit because I just got a new Macbook pro and I am converting everything to Universal Binary. I hope to have these done by the end of Summer or early Autumn. Lately I have been doing some circuit bending and making simple electronic sound circuits. Simple in the respect that they only use a few components, but you would be amazed at the sounds you can make with just a couple 556 and op-amps. Cant wait to get a bbd IC (or 5) and make a crazy little comb filter synth. I took some vids of me messing with them so I will upload those to youtube soon. Also in the works are several new videos, all coming to completion very soon, Ill upload those within the next couple months.
